Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026 — PantryScore (iOS)

This Privacy Policy explains what data PantryScore collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. PantryScore is developed and published by Fluid and Solid Solutions, LLC ("we," "us," "our").

Short version. PantryScore does not require an account, does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell or share your personal data. The only personal data that ever leaves your device is any feedback message you choose to send us through the in-app Send Feedback feature.

What data PantryScore handles

Camera. When you grant camera permission, PantryScore uses the camera to scan barcodes and read nutrition labels. The camera image is processed in real time on your device. It is not transmitted to us, our servers, or any third party. We do not record video, capture photos, or retain camera frames.

Scan history and favorites. Products you scan and items you mark as favorites are stored locally on your device using iOS's standard storage. They are not transmitted to us. You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app or using the in-app history-management controls.

Public database lookups. When you scan a barcode, the app sends only the barcode number to the public Open Food Facts database (operated by Open Food Facts, a French non-profit, under the Open Database License). When you search restaurant menus, the app queries the USDA FoodData Central public database with your search term. These requests contain no personal identifier and are not associated with you.

Feedback messages. If you tap "Send Feedback" inside the app and submit a message, that message is transmitted to the developer via the Telegram Bot API. The message contains the text you typed, an optional star rating, and a feedback category. It does not include any device identifier or any other personal information unless you choose to include it in the message text itself. We use these messages solely to improve the app and respond to user issues.

What PantryScore does NOT do

Data attribution

Product information shown in PantryScore is sourced from public databases:

Children's privacy

PantryScore is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect any data from children. The app collects no personal information by default, so no special protections beyond the general practices described above are required.

Your rights

Because PantryScore does not collect identifying personal data, there is no profile to access, correct, or delete. If you have submitted a feedback message and would like it removed, contact us using the email below. We will delete the message on request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this document.
